What does it mean to live a Spirit-led life? This means having the capacity to live consciously without keeping myself small. I attended the Hoffman Process in July 2005. The Process was unlike anything I had ever experienced. I faced hundreds of self-limiting patterns and beliefs and learned how to transform those patterns and to uncover my authentic self through love and self-compassion. In short, I learned how to live a Spirit-led life. Seeing my life through the eyes of Spirit is a profound experience.
I remember looking at myself in the mirror on the day I was preparing to leave at the end of my Process and seeing myself anew. I was seeing myself through the eyes of my innermost Spiritual self. I saw new potential and possibility that I had never had the courage to bring into my life. I felt safe in the world in a new way. I was able to express my innermost feelings for the first time without self-censoring or shame. To this day, over ten years later, I learn daily what self-compassion truly means. I also learned how to play. This was a remarkable benefit that words cannot describe with justice.
The ways that the Process has benefited me are truly too numerous to mention. However, I will say that I was given several tools that enable me to continually live a Spirit-led life. Especially when adversity arises, I now find that I stay wholeheartedly present and I transform the situation with a fearless heart.
I learned that it is okay to make a mistake! Learning how to play, coupled with learning at a somatic level that it is okay to make a mistake, has expanded my life through dancing, singing, yoga, and writing. I have taken risks that I never imagined would have been possible heretofore.
The Process also widened my spiritual connectivity with others. Once I came home, I thought to myself, “How can I keep the Process alive?”
I learned that the Hoffman Institute provides graduate groups all over the country with well-trained graduate facilitators. I began to attend the Minnesota Hoffman Gathering. The Hoffman Graduate Groups are one of many ways to keep the Process alive.
Along with providing Hoffman graduates a community of others on the Spirit-led path, they also keep us apprised of the Hoffman Institute’s dedication to the most current intersections of science and spirit. We are, each of us, meant to live the Cycle of Transformation and be free of our patterns. We are taught the power of vulnerability and the joy of taking risks and embarking on a new adventure.
I am now a graduate group facilitator. There are over 140 graduates from Minnesota and the surrounding states who regularly attend our monthly programs on keeping the Process alive and active in day-to-day life.
To be clear, the Hoffman Institute is not a religion. It teaches you to access your innermost truths and to bring them into the world; this is what I understand living a Spirit-led life means.
Today, 18 people gathered to practice using the Hoffman Tools during the upcoming holidays. Gathering in this way helped us to connect with Spirit, identify again and again what holds us back from being fully present to our families, and to renew our self-commitment to living a fearless life. We discussed the importance of expressing what we are feeling and releasing the normal tensions, anxieties, and stresses that the holidays can bring up in each of us. We consciously practiced gentleness and forgiveness and compassion for our families and ourselves. We were thoroughly accessing love and light, and these things enable us to engage our families with generosity and return to love over and over again.
I am so thankful for the Hoffman Institute and the Process, and I am thankful for the graduates of the Process who come together to explore life’s challenges and support each other in living Spirit-led lives. Also, I am ready for the holidays!
I cannot underscore the awesomeness of this sacred community and love. What more could one ask for?

In the Winter Solstice time of year when the light is gone and our thoughts go inward, I love this spilling of the light of happiness. We have a choice–we can decide how to show up in the light, or not.
In the spirit of gratitude, thank you Hoffman for creating a world wide circle of graduates who one white light beam at at time, are changing the energy of themselves and their family. Which continues to ripple out into the world.
It certainly worked for this family! And I am so grateful–there is not amount of money worth what we have now… Happy Holidays!
